Eleanor Jean Robb, born April 7, 1928, in Santa Barbara, California passed away April 12, 2018.  "Elly" was a resident of Lompoc since 1948 where she worked and operated the E & E Malt Shop next to the "Old Theater" on H Street with her mother, Ethel Horne. She was also employed as a telephone operator in the 50's.  Elly's love of horses began as a child, and she eventually became an esteemed horse trainer and riding instructor, owning and operating Mission Hills Stables on Rucker Rd., since 1957.  She loved teaching people about horses and riding, especially children.  She was the Lompoc Valley 4-H Horse Project Leader for over 35 years.  A founding member of the Lompoc Valley Riders, and an active board member of the club until 2013.  Elly was also an accomplished sketch artist & leather crafter.  As a caring woman, Elly touched the hearts and lives of many, especially the generations of horsemen and women who grew up around her and the stables.

Elly is preceded in death by her husband of 16 years, Emory F. Robb; and her son, Emory Jay Robb.  She will be greatly missed by her friends and surviving family: daughter, Cyndie Rush; daughter and son-in-law; Kimberly and Brett Cornelia; grandson; Ronald Hoard and his wife; Amanda; granddaughter; Tara Boucher; great-grandchildren; Jared, Lucas, and Kylie Boucher, Bronwen, Aislin and Maeveen Hoard; along with two great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Saturday, April 28, 2018, at 1-2:30 pm followed by a funeral service at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.  A private burial will take place at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.  A celebration of life (BBQ/Potluck) will follow services at 4:00 pm at the Ostini Barn on Campbell Ranch, 4878 Hapgood Rd, Lompoc, CA.
