Born May 18, 1920 in Portland Oregon, Ellenora was the daughter and last child of Jeremiah and Emma Shanahan. She is survived by her two children Sherril Reid (Kevin Wood), Gary Reid (Sherry) and her two grandchildren Kieren Reid and Lauren Wood. Ellenora was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William, her brother Rudolf Petersen and sisters Nellie Wright and Helen Doyle.

A caring and giving soul, Ellenora was a nursing attendant at the Shriners Hospital in Portland Oregon. She was a cook in the kitchen of the Church of the Nazarene where she taught Sunday school and was actively involved in with the choir. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, crafting, knitting and gardening. In 2008 she was crowned royalty at the Comprehensive Care Center, as was her husband when he resided there, and reined as Queen with dignity for the year.

Friends and family will have the opportunity to pay their last respects at a service for Ellenora at Trinity Church of the Nazarene, 500 E. North Avenue on Monday January 5th, 2015 at 2 pm. There will be a viewing prior to the service from 1:30 to 2:00 pm.
