Elmer Simoni of Lompoc died Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at the age of 96 with his family by his side.
Elmer was born March 14, 1919 in Lompoc, Ca. to Charles and Mary Simoni. After attending Honda and Artesia Schools he grew up working on the dairy with Brother Harry. When Harry left for the war, Elmer took on the responsibility for the family dairy. His high work ethic and numerous jobs, often showed his dedication and love for the family. Elmer married his wife Margaret (Concellos) in 1947 and they had two children, Ron and Brenda. Elmer worked a variety of jobs including the Lompoc Bean Warehouse, and later retired from the City of Lompoc as a heavy equipment operator. After retiring, his love for farming led to working with son Ron on the Hansen Ranch. His love for adventure and travel led to many trips with his wife Margaret. When not traveling, he was passionate about lending a hand with electrical, mechanical and restoration projects for friends and family. Elmer was a member of The Lompoc Elk Lodge, Lompoc Grange, and Historical Society.
Elmer is survived by his sister Marylou Simoni, his children Ron (Tarry) and Brenda (Mike) Mann. Grandchildren Randy (Lisa) Simoni, Melissa (Scott) Felton, and Shawna Mann. Great Grandchildren Ashlee Simoni, and Wyatt, Cody and Rylie Felton. He has many cousins, nieces and nephews who loved and respected him dearly.
Elmer is proceeded in death by his parents Charles and Mary, wife Margaret, Brother Harry and Granddaughter Stacy.
The visitation will be Sunday, November 22nd from 4-8 PM at the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. Graveside service will be held November 23rd at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery at 11 AM with reception to be announced at the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to The American Heart Association, the Lompoc Historical Society, and The Lompoc Valley Medical Center.
