Emiliana G. Ignalan of Lompoc passed away Thursday, October 5, 2006 in Arroyo Grande. She was 79 years of age.
Emiliana was born September 11, 1927 to Meliton and Juanita Geronimo in Baguio City, in the Philippine Islands. She was educated in the city of Tarlac, Tarlac, and taught school there for 20 years. She came to the United States in 1970 to live in San Jose. She has been a resident of Lompoc since 1971.
Emiliana was a member of the La Purisima Concepcion Catholic Church and devoutly attended services at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Lompoc. She was a member of the Legion of Mary, the Filipino Community, and the Pioneers of Fil-Am Organization. She regularly provided food to the Good Samaritans and transportation to those in need.
She is survived by her sister, Gertrude Nagal of Watsonville; her brothers Meliton Geronimo, Jr. of San Jose and Rolando Geronimo of Santa Clara; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Florentino Ignalan in 2003.
Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, with the vigil service at 7:00 p.m. in the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary Chapel. The mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, October 13, at 11:00 a.m. at La Purisima Concepcion Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
