Obituary
Emiliana C. Samortin of Lompoc died Thursday, July 19, 2012, at the age of 93.
Emiliana was born May 22, 1919, in the Philippine Islands. She came to the United States and settled in Lompoc in the early 1960s. She worked for many years as a housekeeper at Vandenberg Air Force Base.
Family was the most important thing to Emiliana. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and knitting. She endeared herself to friends and family with her unique sense of humor. She was a member of the Filipino American Club.
Emiliana is survived by her daughter Mae O'Reilly of Torrance, her daughter Mellie Galindo of Stockton, her son James Adams of San Diego, 12 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, her sister Linda Lein of Huntington Beach and her brother Theodoro Curitivo of the Philippine Islands. She was preceded in death by her two daughters Diana Lira and Jean Ruehling.
The visitation will be on Thursday, July 26, from 3-7 pm at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. The funeral service will be on Friday, July 27, at 1 pm in the mortuary chapel led by Pastor Duane Armstrong. Interment will follow in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
