A memorial service will be held on December 16, 2022, to honor the life of Emily Torres Pacheco at 2:00 PM at the Starbuck Lind Mortuary in Lompoc, California.

Emily, also known as "Mugga" to all of her grandchildren and "Molly" to many family and friends, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2022, at the age of 96 years old.

Emily was born on January 26, 1926, in Los Angeles, California. She was one of 11 children born to Jose and Maria Torres.  Her family relocated to Lompoc in 1930, where she would eventually go on to meet and marry Joseph Lizarrio Pacheco in 1943.  Emily and Joseph remained in town to raise their four sons (Richard, Raul, Robert, and Roger).  She took great pride in raising her boys while being a homemaker and continuing to work full-time. From a very early age, she and her siblings worked in the agriculture business helping her father. After her retirement, Emily worked at the Carl's Jr. restaurant in town. She loved this job and was well known to the patrons and popular with the high school kids that came in at lunchtime.

Mugga was the matriarch of her family.   She loved her sons fiercely and cherished the generations of grandchildren that have followed. She always seemed happiest babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and going on adventures that her "babies" will never forget.  She always looked forward to annual Torres Family Reunions and enjoyed sunning in her chair, crocheting, music, and dancing.  She also loved watching her babies while they rode their bikes or just played.  Emily considered her family as her number one priority and her greatest joy in life.  She will be tremendously missed.

Emily is survived by her sons, Raul Pacheco and Robert Pacheco of Lompoc, 7 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Pacheco and two sons, Richard and Roger Pacheco, and a granddaughter Darlene Pacheco.
