Our beloved Mother, Erma Garcia, passed away at the age of 89 in Lompoc, California. She was born on August 1, 1933, to Alejandro M. and Margarita R. Bobadilla. Erma lived her entire life in Lompoc. She was raised by her abuela, Cruzita (Momma) Hernandez along with Cruzita's five other grandchildren.

Erma lived in the Four Corners in Lompoc from 1933-1934. She moved to Artesia Avenue in Lompoc Then the family made their way to downtown Lompoc in 1944. Throughout her school years, Erma attended Artesia County school, and Lompoc Union High School. During her teenage years Erma worked at Bodger Seeds.

On December 29, 1951, Erma married Leon T. Garcia at La Purisima Parish Hall. Together they raised four children: Chris (Dan) Bundy, the late Joseph Michael Garcia, Marge (Kenny) Hampton, and Rosemary (Abe) Alvarez. Erma had seven grandchildren: Mike (Tonda) Huckins, Jr., Shellie (Danny) Davis, Celeste Robles, Jesse Hampton, Joey Garcia, Alisha Robles, and the late Jon-Paul Budny; and five great-grandchildren; Dylan and Ava Davis, Vienna Huckins, Caleb Cochrane, and Kenneth Hampton.

Throughout her life Erma "Momma" worked at the families' restaurants. First at the Lompoc Tortilla Shop and then Café San Martin, where she retired. Momma enjoyed life after retirement. She loved going shopping with her daughters, going out to lunch, crocheting, working in her yard, and walking around her neighborhood. She also enjoyed going to church on Saturday evenings with her sister-in-law Jennie Galindo. After church they would go to Taco Bell or McDonald's. On Fridays Momma and the rest of the family would gather at her granddaughter Shellie's house, for coffee and desserts.

Erma was preceded in death by her parents, Alejandro M. and Margarita R. Bovadilla, her grandmother, Cruzita Hernandez, and her siblings, Isabel B. Garcia, Mary R. Bobadilla, Theodore R. Bobadilla, Raul R. Bobadilla, and Manuel R. Bobadilla, Her ex-spouse Leon T. Garcia, son Joseph Michael Garcia and grandson Jon-Paul Budny.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at La Purisima Catholic Church. Graveside service to follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
