A Mass of Christian Burial for Estefana DeLira Gutierrez, 91, of Lompoc will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2012 at La Purisima Catholic Church with Celebrant Rev. Tom Cook. Burial will follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.

Estefana was born November 28, 1920 in El Paso, Texas to Yrineo and Carmen Guevarra DeLira. Her family relocated to the central coast when she was a young girl. In 1941, she went to work for Bodger Seeds Company in Lompoc. She retired from the greenhouse research and development department in 2003 after 61 years with the company.

Estefana died at her home in Lompoc on Saturday, May 19, 2012.

Survivors include her daughters and spouses; Jennie (Bobby) Martinez, Evelyn (Rob) Stouppe, Rosalie Gutierrez, and (great-granddaughter, caregiver and helper) Alyssa Vasquez; grandchildren Art (Carlene) Martinez, Evelyn (Ronnie) Martinez-Taijeron, Elena Martinez, Dina Ciafardore, Rachelle (Matt) Quintos, Robert John (Rebecca) Stouppe; eleven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Cipriano DeLira of Ontario, Calif., Aurelio DeLira of New Mexico, Ladislao "Laddy" DeLira of Lompoc, and sister, Mary Lira of Chino, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband Johnnie "Shorty" Gutierrez in 1967; and her parents and brothers Joe DeLira and John DeLira.

Visitation hours will be Wednesday, May 30th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
