Esther L. Harris of Lompoc died Wednesday, November 7, 2007, at the age of 87.
Esther was born March 19, 1920, in Santa Ynez to Henry and Olivia Lopez. She was raised and educated in Santa Barbara and attended Santa Barbara High School.
Esther was a housekeeper working in private homes and for the last 20 years she worked at the Alisal Guest Ranch in Solvang. At the time of her retirement she was the housekeeping supervisor.
Esther was a baseball fan, rooting for the Dodgers or Angels. She enjoyed crafts and loved sharing her time, talents and resources with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Lou Eriksen of Lompoc, son Paul Murrietta and his wife Lou of Santa Maria, brothers Stanley Lopez and his wife Dolores of Santa Ynez, Thomas Lopez and his wife Rita of Lompoc, Henry Lopez and his wife Katherine of New Jersey, son-in-law Mark Lang of Santa Maria, seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her daughter Tashi Lang in 2004 and her brother John Lopez in 2006.
At her request no services will be held. Cremation will be followed by private inurnment. Arrangements are under the direction of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
