EVA BOBO
1918-2008
Mrs. Eva Bobo, age 89 of Lompoc, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 29, 2008 in the comfort of her home. She was born June 1, 1918 in Presidio, Texas to Wenselado and Manuela Montes Guerrero.
She will be remembered as a hard worker, known for her many years of tamale and enchilada sales she arranged right up to the age of 88, working the walnut groves or the long rows of beans of the Hibbits' Ranch, her sense of humor, and her love for both Jesus Christ and her extensive family. She and her husband expressed that love by generously extending their home to family members in need, and helped them where they could. She was a loved and valued member and one of the longest-attending members of her church, New Life Christian Center. Eva's pastor could always count on her to be an intercessor in prayer. She knew how to cry out to God in any given situation and did so on behalf of the students and families of New Life Christian Academy. Her greatest concern was the salvation of her children, grandchildren, and the rest of her family whom she deeply loved. She lived to learn that her faithful husband, Q.D. Bobo, received Jesus Christ prior to passing, just over one week ago. After fifty-plus years of marriage, Eva is once again with Q.D. in the Lord's presence.
Eva is survived by so many who loved her: brothers Julio and Miguel Guerrero, both of Lompoc, Ramon Guerrero of New Mexico, and sisters Dulces Nombres Cadena of Oregon and Lograsia Venegas of Arkansas; daughters Amy (Refugio) Gonzales, Pat (Norm) Donohue, and Rosalie (Gustavo) Zepeda; sons Chris, Henry and Victor (Kym) Bobo; grandchildren Synette, Henry, and Jasmine Bobo, Christina and Felicia Zepeda, Sarah and Israel Donohue, Sandra Aguirre, Theresa Barlow, Rene Quintero, and Refugio, Lencho, Daniel, and Susie Gonzales, as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Eva was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Q.D. Bobo, brothers Gregorio and Manuel Guerrero, and sister Rosa Garcia.
A memorial service will take place Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Church of the Nazarene, with her minister, Pastor Doug Conley, officiating. A reception will follow at New Life Christian Center in the Warrior's Worship Center. Burial will take place at a later date at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery's Columbarium.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
