Felipa Figueroa of Lompoc died Saturday, November 28, 2009, at the age of 79.

Felipa was born July 1, 1930, in Clint, Texas to Fermin and Eduviges Ortega. Raised and educated in Texas she has been a resident of Lompoc since 1953. She was a lifelong homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband Gregorio Figueroa, Sr.

She is survived by her brother Miguel Ortega of Newman, sisters Maria Farias of Carpinteria, Anita Rodriguez of Lompoc, Ysidra Ortega of Lompoc and Francisca Campos of Nebraska, her daughters Sara Hernandez and Juanita Figueroa both of Lompoc, son Gregorio Figueroa, Jr. and his wife Blanca of Ventura, son Manuel Figueroa and his wife Mayra of Goleta, son Joe Figueroa of Lompoc, daughter Mary Ann Lopez and her husband Jose, son Michael Figueroa and his wife Rosa of Lake Forest, son Fernando Figueroa and his wife Susan of Harvest, Alabama, son Richard Figueroa and his wife Linda of Prescott, Arizona, Andrew Figueroa and his wife Monica of Lompoc, her cousin Simon Hernandez and his wife Beda of Bakersfield, her grandchildren Danny and Patricia Hernandez, Lawrence Barbosa, III, Gregorio Figueroa, III, Diana, Barbarita, Adriana, Fabian Ray, Louis and Andrea Figueroa, Angela Solorio, Jessica and Jose Lopez, Michael and Veronica Figueroa, Filemon Galvan, Christina, Ashley, Christopher and Thomas Figueroa, Richard Figueroa, Jr., and Jacqueline Figueroa, and 27 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Fermin Ortega, Jr., and her great grandsons Julian T. Barbosa and Ruben Figueroa.

The visitation will be on Thursday, December 3, from 4-7 pm and the funeral service on Friday, December 4, at 11 am in the chapel of the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. Cremation will be followed by inurnment in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.
