Frances Ortega Elisarraras, age 87, of Lompoc, California passed away peacefully on October 1, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

Frances was born on October 28, 1930 to Francisco and Alta Ortega, in Harlingen Texas. Frances lived in Santa Barbara, for 48 years, where she worked and raised her daughters.  She then moved to Las Vegas and Topaz Lake, Nevada for 28 years.  Frances moved to Lompoc, to live with her daughter in 2016.

Frances was a dedicated mother and wife and lived life to the fullest.  She loved playing bingo and penny slots.  She would make homemade cupcakes for the senior center in Topaz Lake.  She enjoyed putting a smile on all the faces at the center.  Frances loved fishing with her beloved husband Johnny.  They would go to June lake and fish for a whole week.  She also went hiking, horseback riding, boating, and parasailing.

Frances is survived by her daughters, Gloria Rivera (Joe), Terri Munoz (Eddie) Lisa Salgado (Tom) and her step daughters, Sheryl Rood & Becky Cortez (Floyd).   She was blessed with 20 grandkids and 46 great grandkids, and nine great-great grand kids.  She is also survived by her brothers and sisters Antonio Ortega, Adam Ortega, Connie Castelan and Carmen Elisarraras.   She had numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.   Frances is preceded in death by her parents Francisco & Alta Ortega, her loving husband Johnny, daughter Rebecca Ramos, stepdaughter Debbie Ortega, brothers, Silver and Robert Ortega, sisters, Susie Villarreal, and Pauline Villarreal.

A Rosary will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Santa Barbara, on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 7 pm.  A Funeral Mass will be held at La Purisima Catholic Church in Lompoc on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 10 am. Interment will follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
