Frances Jean Wheeler (Lopez) of Lompoc, beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at the age of 66. Frances was born February 7, 1947, in Santa Barbara, California to Savino and Alice Lopez.
Frances, a 1966 graduate of Lompoc High School, enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, crafting and was a tremendous, loving caregiver to her mother for over 20 years.
Frances is survived by her mother Alice Lopez of Lompoc, daughter Mary Ann Riseley of Casper Wyoming, son Steven Wheeler of Florida, brothers Frederick Lopez of Goleta Ca, Thomas Lopez of Gig Harbor WA., Alex Lopez of South Riding VA., Dennis Lopez of Meridian ID., Karl Lopez of Oceanside, CA., 3 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. Frances is preceded in death by her father Savino Lopez..
The visitation will be on Sunday, December 22 from 4-8pm at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary and Vigil service will be at 6pm. Rev. Tom Cook will celebrate the Mass of Christian burial on Monday, December 23 at 10am at La Purisima Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
