Francisco "Frankie" Cervantes of Lompoc died Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at the age of 47.
Frankie was born December 2, 1968, in Tepatitlan, Jalisco, Mexico. Shortly after his birth he was brought to join his family in Lompoc, where he has been a lifelong resident. Frankie graduated from Lompoc High School and earned an associate's degree from Allan Hancock College. He was employed for many years as a cashier at Longs Drug Store. Frankie regularly attended La Purisima Catholic Church.
Frankie was very social. He loved to dance and spend time with his friends and family. They write: "To our beloved son, brother and father who will be deeply missed. Frankie, 'Paquito,' we love you more than ever. Until we meet again, this time forever. May God receive you with open arms. Love you now and forever, your father Luis, sisters Dora and Marisela, your brothers-in-law Rafael and Enrique, nieces and nephews Jasmine, Omar, Coraima and Enrique, and most of all, you will be missed by your son, Xavier. Rest in peace."
The visitation will be Friday, April 29, from 4-9 pm with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 pm in the chapel of the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. Father Tom Cook will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 30, at 10 am at La Purisima Catholic Church. Cremation will be followed by inurnment in the Lompoc Cemetery on Monday, May 2, at 10 am.
