Francisco "Frank" M. Taitague passed away peacefully on November 20, 2010 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. He was 81. Frank was born in Inarajan, Guam on November 5, 1929.
Frank had entered into the Air Force and after a distinguished 20-year of service he retired. Frank then continued working at Vandenberg Air Force Base where he finally retired with Martin Marietta as a Missile Technician where he had received many certificates, acknowledgments and awards for his work on the Titan program. After his second retirement, he enjoyed babysitting his grandchildren and playing golf almost daily until the illness took over.
Frank is survived by his wife Victoria "Vicki" of 51 years. His children and their spouses; Connie (David) Hollister of Lompoc; Frank Jr. (Gloria) Taitague of Lompoc, and Michael (Maribel) Taitague of Fremont. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Ashley, Dustin, Colton, Nicholas, Christopher, Megan and Mikko.
Services will be at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Mission Hills at 10am on Wednesday, November 24, 2010. Full military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force.
At the family's request the Rosary and a private graveside ceremony will be for the family.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to the Hospice Partners of the Central Coast or the Alzheimer's Association.
