Frank "Tom" Dover, Jr. was born in Santa Barbara, CA in 1932, and moved to Lompoc, CA when he was 10. He was the youngest child of Frank and Mary (Shaw) Dover. He passed away November 6, 2014.
After graduating from Lompoc High School, Frank served 20 years in the US Air Force reaching the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. Next, he worked for the Department of Justice for an additional 20 years.
Frank loved spending time with his family, telling stories, driving in the Figueroa Mountains and on Vandenberg Air Force Base plus fishing in the ocean and at Lake Cachuma with Bernie, Stan, Pappy, and Paul.
He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
Preceding him in death was his wife of 55 years, Margaret (Rennie) Dover. Survivors include his four sons: Rennie (Cheryl), Frank, III (Deb Norman), Jaime (Kathi), and Sean (Cassie) plus seven grandchildren: Steven, Jason, Michael, Scott, Riley, Moriah, and AJ. Other survivors include his brother: Bernie, two sisters-in-law: Virginia & DeDe, plus cousin: Frank (Donna) Giovanacci along with numerous other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be at the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary from 4 to 8 PM, Thursday, November 13, 2014 with a Vigil at 6 PM. Funeral services will be the La Purisima Catholic Church at noon, Friday, November 14, 2014. Internment with military honors will follow at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
