Obituary

Frank R. Luis was born July 29, 1921 to Joe and Filomena Luis on San Julian Ranch in Lompoc. He was happily married to Louise for more than 50 years.

Frank loved to fish, hunt, camp and eat donuts. He was a farmer and retired from Johns-Manville. He also worked for Granite Construction and helped build the Gaviota Tunnel. Frank was a man who loved life, enjoyed his family and never met a stranger. Frank passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2011.

Frank was preceded in death by his daughter Maryellen and his wife Louise. Frank is survived by his brothers Joe Luis of Lompoc, and Tony Luis of Arroyo Grande, three daughters, Phyllis Dimock of King City, Barbara Kingsley of Lompoc and Polly LaLiberte of Lompoc, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at the Chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary on Monday, December 12, 2011, with a rosary beginning at 5pm. A funeral mass will be held at Queen of Angels Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at 10am, followed by interment at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Frank's name to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care, 222 E. Canon Perdido Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93101 or www.vnhcsb.org.
