IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frank
Taschler
May 27, 1938 – April 10, 2019
Frank Joseph Taschler departed this life with family by his side on April 10, 2019, at the age of 80, to be with the Lord. Frank was born in St. Louis, Missouri.
Frank is survived by Mary Ellen Taschler, his loving wife (and buddy) of 57 years, his daughter Sandi Kenny (G.B.), his son Brance Taschler (Michelle), his four grandchildren Hayden, Dustin, Colton and Peyton, his brother Richard Taschler (Marian), nieces and nephew, cousins and other relatives, neighbors, co-workers, Navy buddies and friends far and near.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank M. Taschler, Josephine T. Schalek, and stepfather Leonard Schalek.
After graduation, Frank joined the Navy and was aboard the U.S.S. Midway and Bonhomme Richard. With a degree in Engineering, his career was in the electronic field. He also worked for the IRS (and hated this job). His nickname was "Robin Hood" because he wanted to help the people. Frank was employed with Lockheed and the U.S. Government where he was involved with missile and space launches at Vandenberg Air Force Base.
Frank played most all sports as an adult, as well as coaching (known as "Coach Tasch"), refereeing, umpiring, pitching softball, many hours of racket ball, dirt bike riding, playing horseshoes, biking, fishing. He loved going hiking in the hills locally and wherever he may be. He enjoyed teasing (giving someone/anyone/everyone a hard time) all the neighbors, co-workers, doctors, family, friends, or anyone with whom he came into contact. Spending time with his family, grandkids and friends were his delight. Frank enjoyed life to the fullest.
There will be a celebration of Frank's life and reception to follow on May 3, 2019, at 11 AM at Trinity Church of Nazarene, 500 East North Avenue, Lompoc, California. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to a charity of your choice.
