Frank D. Nowland of Lompoc passed away Saturday, January 6, 2007 at the age of 73. He was born April 2, 1933 to Wallace and Eda Nowland in Fairgrove, Michigan.
Frank served in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1970. Formerly of San Diego, Frank came to Lompoc following his military service. He worked as a refrigeration engineer at the Lompoc Federal Prison for many years.
Frank is survived by his daughters, Tina and her husband Richard Vance of Lompoc, and Gerlinde Nowland of Santa Ynez; a son, Joseph and his wife Emily Nowland of San Luis Obispo; two sisters, Amelia Sipes of Michigan, and Devota Nowland of Michigan; a brother, Daniel Nowland of Michigan; three grandchildren, Lauren, Mathew and Violet; his former spouse Hilde Nowland, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation will be followed by private inurnment in Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
