Bouchyard
September 21, 1971 – June 8, 2021
Fred Eric Boutchyard was born on September 21, 1971, in Colorado Springs, CO after a snowy weekend and a visitation by Uncle Jim and Aunt Marilyn (Marlin). After 4 years the family had to leave his "green house" and was transferred to Lompoc, CA where he attended elementary school in Vandenberg Village.
In 1979 his military family was assigned to Omaha, NW (Offutt AFB) where he continued his education through middle school. He was involved in community-based sports. His interests however drifted toward guns and cars.
His father retired in August 1983 but after a severe winter, Eric (went by his middle name) and his family moved back to Lompoc in July 1984. He continued his academic pursuits by attending Cabrillo High School. His sports interest turned to football and played on a neighborhood team. His brother, Jeff, was killed in an auto accident in December 1984. Eric graduated from Cabrillo in June 1989 and headed directly to Universal Technical Institute (UTI) in Phoenix where he would pursue his automotive aspirations. After graduating from UTI in December 1990 and employment in several related jobs following, he joined the Marine Corps! After recruit training in San Diego, he had several stateside stints and then went to Bosnia to "keep the peace". Then he got assigned to that garden spot on the CA desert- 29 Palms. He exited the service after 4 years.
He was subsequently employed by several companies in the area, mostly in the field of machinist work. His dream Hob of working in the race car industry came true. He got a job with John Force Racing in Yorba Linda, CA.
After 4 years he came back to Lompoc and worked for several Santa Maria companies. His desire however was to go to Orgon and to enjoy outdoor life so off he went. He eventually settled in Redmond and got a job in a specialized welding field. He lost his job during the coronavirus epidemic.
He died on June 8, 2021, in Redmond. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff, in 1984 and his mother, Claudia, in 2011.
