IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Fred Larry
Hernandez
November 3, 1952 – December 11, 2022
Fred went to San Luis Obispo High and graduated from Cal Poly. He has lived almost his entire life in San Luis, with the exception of him attending San Diego State for a year.
Fred had a love for the Asian culture. He was part of a Judo Club, earning many certificates. He enjoyed learning to speak and write in mandarin, as well as cooking Asian cuisine. Many times, he had driven up to San Francisco, just to enjoy a lunch or dinner in China Town.
He was not the type of person to ask for anything, from anyone. He learned from his mom, how to find a good deal, anywhere he shopped.
With the passing of his parents Elenor and Ralph Hernandez in 1997, Fred is survived by his three siblings Mary Heidorn, Robert Hernandez, and Richard Hernandez, along with his five nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and great nephews.
There will be a visitation on Sunday, December 18, from 2-5pm at Reis Family Mortuary in San Luis Obispo. There will be a visitation and vigil service in Lompoc on Monday, December 19, from 12-2pm at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary followed by interment in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
