Fred C. Perry, lifetime resident of the Lompoc area, passed away at home on Saturday evening, September 04, 2010. He was 68 years old and was being treated for a heart ailment. Fred was a member of the pioneer Drum Family. At the time of his birth, they resided at the family farm in Drum Canyon between Lompoc and Buellton. The Drum's settled in the canyon in the 1870's.
In the middle 1970's, after a 20 year career with Culligan Softwater, Fred established Perry Trucking . He was still "Pedal to the Metal" at the time of his death.
Fred will be greatly missed by family and friends. His survivors include his mother Helen Marie Drum Perry; his four sons Fred Jr. (daughter-in-law Sabrina), Bob, Christian, and Teddy; his brothers Ed and Jack, and 5 grandchildren Ariel, Bobby, Kyle, Charlene, and Freddie the third, He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife Judith Espana Perry, and his father Manuel Frank Perry.
Graveside services will be held Friday, September 17, at 3:30, at the Lompoc Cemetery.
