Freddie Nelson Weyl
1931-2008
Freddie Ruth (Nelson) Weyl, age 77 of Lompoc, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born January 27, 1931 in Punta Gorda, Florida to Elberta and Fred Nelson, she moved to Lompoc in 1985 from Westchester, California.
She was a lifelong homemaker and was devoted to her husband and children. Freddie joined the Alpha Literary Club in 1986 and was president from 1991-1992. She enjoyed the Literary Club and attending the flower show. She had a passion for her roses and cats, and loved playing bridge. She held the office of Guardian with the PEO chapter DP, and also belonged to the Lompoc Republican Club.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Carl Weyl, son and daughter-in-law Carl and Cyndi Weyl of Lancaster, CA, son Raymond Weyl of Rockford, IL, son and daughter-in-law Robert and Linda Weyl of Olympia, WA, five grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, August 29, 2008 at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. A funeral service will take place Saturday, August 30, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. at the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Ricardo Gonzales to officiate. Private burial will take place at a later date.
