Freeman "Ray" Acord of Lompoc, age 68 beloved Papa to Arthur, Taylor, Dylan, and Morgan, put on his angel wings Januray 19th while at home with his wife of 49 years, Monica.

Ray was born on December 6, 1938 in Littlerock, Arkansas. He was proud to share his birthday with his oldest Grandson, Arthur. He grew up and attended schools in Tulare, CA. this is where he met Monica C. Hernandez and they were married in November of 1957.

Ray and Monica have three children; Ricardo Ray of Wallace Idaho, Theresa Ann Carroll of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho and Tina Marie Christen of Lompoc, CA.

After high school Ray served in the United States Navy, once leaving the navy he enjoyed a career as a Trans-Continental Merchandise Re-locator aka a truck driver. He would use the former title when he wanted to throw people off... he was a jokester. Ray's favorite job was that of a Grandfather to his four grandchildren' Arthur Carroll (16), Dylan Carroll (6), Taylor Christen (8), and Morgan Christen (5). He loved to play tricks , sharing silly sayings, and sharing his love of animals . His other favorite pastimes included Dodger Baseball, bird watching, watching a good episode of the Sopranos, and Aeronautics.

Ray will peacefully join his parents Teddy and Hallie Acord, his brothers Dean, Roger, Recel, and his sisters Shirley, Lorraine, and Beatrice.

Ray will be lovingly missed by his wife monica, his children, their spouses, and his grandchildren' Rick and Cindy Acord, Theresa, Phil, Arthur, and Dylan Carroll, and Tina, Bill, Taylor, and Morgy Christen.

A family Ceremony will be held Friday at the Lompoc Cemetery
