Obituary
A memorial service for Gene R. Erickson will be held Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 1 pm at the Lompoc Elk's Lodge, 905 East Ocean Avenue.
Gene was born on April 16, 1934 in Everett, Washington to Adrian Erick and Hazel Corrine Erickson. He graduated from Everett High School with the class of 1952. He served in the US Navy and received his training at Great Lakes Naval Station in Illinois followed by shipboard duty aboard a US destroyer.
Gene worked initially with the Boeing Company for five years. He then worked for ITT Federal Services on the Tracking Ship USNS Range Tracker and at Vandenberg Air Force Base Tranquillion Peak radar as a computer technician, retiring in 1994 after 31 years with ITT.
Gene was a 44-year life member of Lompoc Elks Lodge #2274.
Gene is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Robert and Clydene Erickson of Union Grove, Wisconsin, his sister-in-law Tudy Erickson of Marysville, Washington and many nephews and nieces. Gene was preceded in death by his mother and father, brothers Richard and Lawrence and his sister Delores Peterson.
