Obituary
Hollis Eugene Keys of Lompoc died Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at the age of 79.
Gene was born October 20, 1935, in Memphis, Tennessee to William and Jessie Keys. He was raised and educated in Searcy, Arkansas. He served honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean and Viet Nam wars and retired in 1973. He then went to work for Boeing Aerospace, Martin-Marietta and Lockheed, retiring in 1987.
Gene has been a resident of Lompoc since 1973. He had a passion for fishing and bowling.
Gene is survived by his wife of 54 years, Karin Keys; daughter Melissa Upright of Orcutt; son Steven Keys of Lompoc; and grandson R. J. Upright of Orcutt. He was preceded in death by his brothers Phil, Bob and Warren.
In honor of his request, no services will be held. Cremation will be followed by private inurnment. The arrangements are in the care of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary
