Obituary

Genetta Schuyler, 96 of Lompoc passed away Sunday, April 22, 2007. She was born March 23, 1911 in Fresno to Eli and Maude (Londsdale) Cheatham. She moved to Lompoc in 1926 and attended local schools. Genetta was the first cheerleader at Lompoc High in 1929 and helped write the first high school fight song.

Genetta helped her husband Lawrence Bill Schuyler in their farming business and was very active in the community. She was a member of the Village Country Club, the Lompoc Historical Society, the Lompoc Hospital Foundation, the Women's Chamber of Commerce, the Half Century Club, and the Lompoc Art Association. She was the founder of the Cotillion Club of Lompoc and one of the first chairmen of the Alpha Club Lompoc Flower Show in 1954. She was a well-known artist in Lompoc Valley. She also raced outboard motor boats and was a national champion. She attended the First Presbyterian Church Of Lompoc.

Genetta is survived by a daughter, Laragene Schuyler of Lompoc; two grandchildren, Chuck Bohl of Lompoc and Heather Moffitt of Paso Robles; three great Grandchildren, Drake, Kasey, and Kendall. She was preceded in death by her parents and her Husband, Lawrence Bill Schuyler.

Private Services will be held. The Community is invited to a celebration of her life at the Lompoc Valley Community Center, 1501 E. Ocean in Lompoc, Friday, April 27, from 3 to 5 P.M.
