IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gerald
Agnelli
April 22, 1944 – December 27, 2024
Gerald Agnelli, of Lompoc, CA reunited in Heaven with the love of his life, his wife Gail, on December 27, 2024 surrounded by family.
Jerry was born April 22, 1944 in Lompoc, CA to Ethel and Frank Agnelli. He grew up in Lompoc and attended Lompoc High School class of 62. In May of 1965, he and Gail Garrison exchanged vows at the La Purisima Catholic Church and began their life together. Shortly after, Jerry was drafted into the United States Army where he served two years, one of which was in the Vietnam War. When he returned home from serving our country, he and Gail started their family and had their son John and daughter Christy. Jerry continued his education at Allan Hancock College and worked at Chevrolet as a mechanic. He went on to work for the County of Santa Barbara Road Department where he retired out as the Road Maintenance Superintendent. Everyone between Lompoc and Santa Ynez knew who Jerry was and always greeted him with a smile and a wave. He even snuck out for the occasional Jalama burger while making sure those roads were in good condition. Throughout his years he spent time farming with his dad, fishing, hunting and BBQing. He often shared that when he wasn't helping his dad with the farming, he could be found at the beach surfing, cruising around town in the evenings, and enjoying time at his grandma's, where he treasured the warmth of their big Italian family gatherings and the company of close friends.
Three years ago he and Gail left their hometown of Lompoc and moved to Pocatello Idaho to spend time with their son John and his family and to take in all the beautiful sights. Jerry had become familiar with this area through his many years of hunting out of state with cousins and always dreamed of living out his life with Gail in this beautiful area. Jerry and Gail enjoyed camping at the local lakes or big trips to the sierras with their kids and their friends creating lifelong memories. Jerry loved to take Gail on drives to check out new places and beautiful sights. After Gails' passing, Bud, their family dog, became his shotgun rider. There was not a day you would see Jerry without Bud. Jerry was so proud of his grandkids and always made sure to keep up with what they were doing. One of his favorite memories was him and Gail taking all 6 of the grandchildren to the casino. He was fortunate to spend time with two great grandbabies, and enjoy all the blessings in life.
Jerry will be dearly missed by his son John (Joanne), daughter Christy (Jason), grandchildren Madison, Amanda, Zane, Jorja, Wyatt, Marley, great granddaughters, and his best boy, Bud (dog).
We love you Dad and Papa.
