Obituary

Gerald Gordon Beth, 88, died peacefully on February 26, 2024, at his home in Escondido, California, with his daughters by his side. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dolly, son Raymond, his brother, sister and parents.

"Gerry," known to his friends and family, was born in Pleasanton, Kansas. He was the youngest of three children to the late Charles Dewey Beth and Eva Lucille Beckley. He spent his formative years growing up in Kansas City and moved with his family to Boulder, Colorado, where he graduated from Boulder High School.

Gerry enlisted in the United States Air Force in January 1955, and while serving worked on early warning radar and GERTS tracking systems in Hoddiado, Japan, Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Biloxi, Mississippi. Following his discharge, he settled in Lompoc, California, and began working for ITT. He was involved with the Pacific/Western Test Range at Vandenberg Air Force Base, the White Alice Communications Systems in Anchorage, Alaska, and eventually served as Vice President and Director of ITT FELEC Services in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He retired after almost 40 years with the company.

In December 1973, Gerry married Dolores "Dolly" Chavez, the love of his life. He spent the next 35 years devoted to her and their marriage, until her sad passing in July 2008. He left this earth certain that she was waiting for him and that they would soon be together again.

In 2015, Gerry left Lompoc and relocated to the San Diego area to be nearer to family, where he was loved and well cared for these last nine years of his life.

He is survived by his children: Trish, Yvonne, Corina, and Larry; his grandchildren: Sam, James, Selina, Shae'leen, Jacob, Yvonne, Abraham, Ashwin, Sara, and Natalie; and twenty-one beautiful great-grandchildren.

Services for Gerry will be held privately. Please send your condolences to the family or play a round of golf in his honor.
