Gerald Joseph Madden

December 15, 1953 - June 2, 2023

Gerald "Joe" Madden 69, passed away on June 2nd, 2023, at his home in Lompoc California after a lengthy illness.

He was born on December 15th, 1953, to Gerald F. Madden and Clara J. Madden (Wernette) in El Reno, OK. He also lived in Colorado and West Virginia before the family settled in California where he graduated from Cabrillo High School in 1972. After graduation Joe enlisted in the United States Navy and after an Honorable Discharge, he returned to Lompoc.

He met his future wife Patty in 1978 and they got married in 1984 in Lompoc California. Together they raised two wonderful children.

Joe was proud of his chosen profession in construction, framing homes for 40 years all throughout the central coast. He enjoyed fishing with his father and brothers in a special place his father took them to on the Klamath River. Whether it was at the river, in the ocean or lakes, it didn't matter, he loved it all. Hunting with his beloved Labrador Sydney was also a precious time for him. He loved barbecuing and watching football.

Joe is survived by his wife Patty, son Greg, daughter Andrea and her husband Martin and grandson Jesse. Also, his mother Clara, sister Mary and her husband Terry, nieces Robin and Marisa, nephew Scott. Brothers Patrick and his wife Robin, niece Jody, nephews Jacob and Jeffrey; Doug and his wife Beverly, nephew Christopher and niece Jennafer; and youngest brother Tim.

Joe is preceded in death by his father Gerald.

Chapel services will be on June 16th at 11:00 am at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary in Lompoc.
