Gerardo Tovar, 62, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 29th, 2026. Born on May 15, 1964, he was a lifelong resident of Lompoc, where he built a life rooted in hard work, friendship, and a deep love for those around him.

Throughout his life, Gerardo worked in various roles in the community, including serving as a Vandenberg Hotshot fighting wildfires, but his passion was automotive mechanics. Gerardo loved the Dallas Cowboys, spending time outdoors, grilling for family and friends, listening to music, and making everyone feel welcome.

He was also a proud brother, uncle, and loyal friend who never forgot a birthday and was always ready with a laugh, a story, or a helping hand. His greatest joy was being a father to his beloved only daughter.

Gerardo was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Sydney Nicole Tovar.

He will be deeply missed by his siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family, and the many friends and neighbors whose lives he touched.

A rosary will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 5:00 pm at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary in Lompoc.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life in Gerardo’s honor, which will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Beattie Park in Lompoc.
