Gertrude Curtis Johnson passed away August 18, 2011 at the age of 97 in her Lompoc home of natural causes.
Gertrude was born September 30, 1913 in Lexington, Missouri to George and Dolly Mae Bagnell. Her grandmother raised her after her parents died. In 1931 she married Charles Johnson who worked in the coalmines. In 1945 they moved to Taft and in 1961 they settled in Lompoc.
Gertrude is survived by her daughter Shirley (Joe) Rapozo, son Ted (Penny) Johnson, daughter-in-law Arlene Johnson, grandchildren Tim McCrackin, David McCrackin, Dennis Johnson, Pamela Rapozo-Jones, Jeremy Johnson and Amy Mikal, 12 great grandchildren and 25 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Johnson, sons Curtis and Tommy Johnson, grandsons Eddie Johnson and Tommy Rapozo and great granddaughter Christina Ashley.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 25 at 10 am at Bethany Lutheran Church, 135 South E Street in Lompoc.
