Gilberto Preciado Flores passed away Monday April 1, 2024, at the age of 60. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Flores Valdez, who passed away on January 16, 2023. He is survived by his wife Anita. He is also survived by his children Adriana Rubio, Cynthia Mullins, and Julio and Eric Andrade, they were very near and dear to him. Gilberto was also survived by his Father Andres Preciado Rico and his 10 brothers and sisters: Herlinda, Maria de Lourdes, Adan, Abel, Alfredo, Monica, Victor Manuel, Oralia Marisol, Maria Araceli, Amalia Yanet and many nephews, nieces' cousins, uncles and aunts and friends. Gilberto always made sure everyone stayed close.

Gilberto was born in San Martin Hidalgo, Mexico and was raised in Los Vergaras until he was 18. He decided that the best thing to do for his family was to come North. He worked hard to support his family in the United States and did that until the day he died.  Gilberto always made sure that his family was never in need of anything.

At 18 Gilberto started working at a Bakery in Huntington Beach. He later moved to Buellton and worked at Pea Soup Anderson part-time and had another part-time job.  His passion was Soccer and barbequing. He would watch with his friends on the big screen TV. He loved cooking and being around people. Soon he got into plastering and became one of the best in Santa Barbara County and was well known as "Grandpa". He was referred to as "Grandpa" because he trained so many and had been in the business for so long.  Gilberto was sought after by many contractors to do plastering because he was very, very good at it. He got into doing other types of jobs. He enjoyed figuring out new work and would do whatever was put in front of him.

Gilberto left an empty space in all our hearts. On behalf of those who did not have a chance to say goodbye. "We will miss you, Gilberto."
