Gloria Jean Gustafsson, 69, of Lompoc, California, passed away November 8, 2018, at Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria, California, after battling cancer for eight years.

She was born September 8, 1949, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, a daughter of the late James Weldon and Virginia Ann Mead Smith.  She was a 1967 graduate of Newport High School where she was valedictorian of her class and head cheerleader.  After many different jobs, she worked with her husband Tom at Tor's Saab for over 33 years.  She was a lady and was greatly loved by so many.

She is survived by the love of her life of 40 years, Bo Tommy Gustafsson; brother Doug Smith (Joan) of Newport, Ohio; sister Pat McCullar of Lompoc, California; two sons Todd Knowlton (Maggie) of Lompoc, California and Gray Knowlton (Jennifer) of Portland, Oregon; stepson John Gustafsson (Niki) of Lompoc, California; niece/daughter Heather Bowman of O'Fallon, Illinois; eight grandchildren Noah Esquivel, Dori, Sean and Fiona Knowlton, step-grandchildren Lucas and Brendon Moyers and Haley and Hanna Knowlton; along with many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary, 123 North A Street, Lompoc, California.  Graveside services will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.  A reception will follow the services.
