Gloria Marie Kimelman of Lompoc died Sunday, May 3, 2009, at the age of 73.

Gloria was born July 1, 1935 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to Alexander and Jane Navaroli. She was raised and educated in McKeesport. On February 20, 1954 she married another native of McKeesport, Howard Kimelman. Howard served in the United States Air Force and the Kimelman family was sent to Turkey. In 1968 they returned to the United States and settled in Lompoc where Gloria was a contracting officer at Vandenberg Air Force Base for 31 years.

A member of La Purisima Catholic Church, Gloria enjoyed Bingo, Christmas and other fun family events.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years Howard Kimelman, Sr. of Lompoc, a daughter and son-in-law Cindy and Mike Bonnell of Cheyenne, Wyoming, her son Howard Kimelman, Jr. of Lompoc, granddaughter and her husband Dawn and Jose Quintero of Lompoc, granddaughter Deena Bonnell of Illinois, granddaughter and her husband Kristen and Jeremy Woodie of Denver, Colorado, granddaughter Ashlee Weber of Satellite Beach, Florida, granddaughter Jennifer Kimelman of Lompoc, granddaughter Julie Barber of Cheyenne, Wyoming, great granddaughters Crystal and Alyssa Quintero of Lompoc, great grandson Caleb Woodie of Denver, great granddaughters Shelby and Angel Barber of Cheyenne, and her brother Elmo Navaroli of Canoga Park. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her sister Angeline Kruper, and by her daughter Jayne Kimelman-Weber earlier this year.

The visitation will be on Thursday, May 7, at the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary Chapel from 4 to 7 pm, with a Rosary at 5 pm. Monsignor John Fitzgerald will celebrate the mass of Christian burial on Friday, May 8, at 10 am at Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
