Obituary

Our beloved mother Gloria May Kurilich passed away peacefully at home on October 2nd, 2011. She was surrounded by Mike, her husband of 57 years, daughter Patty, son Michael and daughter-in-law Barbara.

She was born in Chicago on May 14th, 1931 and migrated to Los Angeles in the early 50's with her family. She met her husband Mike bowling, and they were soon married.

Santa Monica is where she resided for most of her adult life and she and her family spent many wonderful days enjoying the beach. She worked at Sears for over thirty years as a customer service clerk. Mom loved to travel and she experienced a number of fascinating countries and cultures in her 80 years.

Upon retirement she and her husband moved to Mariposa for a few years before moving to Lompoc to be close to her beloved mother Kate Grbac, sisters Jean Lester and Kathy Grbac and brother Joe Grbac . The last 12 years of her life has been spent living in Vandenberg Village where she took in many plays at Hancock College, enjoyed reading and spent many days swimming at the pool in the Village Country Club and visiting with her relatives living in the Lompoc area. She also volunteered with the American Cancer Society. Mom was an excellent cook and loved her kitchen where she cooked many fine meals for her extended family. She will be missed dearly by her many family and friends.
