IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Grace Anita
Hunt
August 29, 1930 – February 10, 2018
Grace Anita Hunt, 87, of Lompoc passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, February 10, 2018, surrounded by her loved ones.
Grace was born a twin sister with brother Francis on August 29, 1930, in Montclair, New Jersey to Rocco and Frances Caponegro. She was one of seven siblings.
Grace married William J. Hunt on February 3, 1950, and were married 51 years at the time of his death in 2001. Being an Air Force wife, Grace called home to Texas, Florida, England twice and even Tripoli, Africa. Lompoc became her permanent home in 1967.
Grace worked for the Santa Barbara County Housing Authority as a bookkeeper until her retirement in 1996. Grace loved to shop and could make a pie at the drop of a hat. She also loved to sew. She always seemed to be hemming pants or skirts of a friend or a friend of a friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband William and all six of her siblings. She is survived by her four children William Jr. (Karen), Ann Kemper (Ron), Patty Hunt and Lisa McCune (Bob). She was an amazing grandmother to five grandchildren Trey, Joe, Domenica, Shelby and Wyatt.
The family would like to thank her devoted friend Rita Rosso who sat beside her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at 1:00 p.m.at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary 123 N. A Street, Lompoc. A reception will follow the service at the Hunt family home. A private graveside service will be held at Riverside National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Assisted Home Hospice who compassionately cared for Grace during her final years. Assisted Home Hospice 302 N. Milpitas St., Santa Barbara 93103.
