Greeta Mary Louise (Gates) Hardy passed away on March 9, 2015, at the age of 87. She was born March 27, 1927, in Grand Junction, Colorado to Benjamin James Gates and Hattie Emma (Burger) Gates. She graduated from Santa Barbara High School in 1945. In 1950 she married Albert Cornelius Hardy, Jr. and they traveled the world as a US Air Force family.
She is survived by her husband, Albert, of 64 years; 2 daughters, Phyllis Hardy and Suzanne (Mike) Mohamed of Lompoc; two grandsons, Carl W. Bloomfield, Jr. of Alameda, CA and Mars A. Mohamed of Lompoc; 3 nieces, Mary (Frank) Allcott of Santa Barbara, Cheryl (Charles) Sager of Wofford Heights, CA, Carolyn (Russ) Milligan of Bakersfield, CA; 2 nephews, Kenn Gates of Lake Isabella, CA and Dan (Bonnie) Gates of Kerrville, CA; and several grand nieces and nephews.
Greeta was passionate about the Enlisted Village in Shalimar, FL. This was for the widows/widowers of Air Force Enlisted personnel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Air Force Enlisted Village (www.afenlistedwidows.org/Waysto Give.html).
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 2pm at the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary, 123 North A Street, Lompoc, CA.
