Obituary

Guadalupe V. Huante of Lompoc died Friday, December 6, 2013, in Santa Maria at the age of 84.

Guadalupe was born November 16, 1929, in Oxnard, California to Luis and Hermalinda Huante. After graduating from Oxnard High School he served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as a warehouseman at Port Hueneme before moving to Lompoc to assume a position at Vandenberg Air Force Base. He retired after 34 years of civil service

A Resident of Lompoc since 1956, Guadalupe was a member of the American Legion Post 211 and the Lompoc Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his family.

Guadalupe is survived by his wife of 55 years Nellie Huante of Lompoc, his daughter Caroline (Robert) Pittman of Tallahassee, Florida, his son Steve Huante of Lompoc, his grandsons Robert Pittman, Jr. and Devin Pittman both of Tallassee and his brother Serfine Huante of Oxnard. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Luis Huante, Jr. in 1991.

The funeral service will be Thursday, December 12, at 10am, at the Lompoc Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 205 West Chestnut Avenue. Interment with military honors will be on Thursday at 1pm in the Santa Clara Cemetery in Oxnard, 2370 North H Street in Oxnard.

The funeral services are under the direction of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
