Guadalupe Mendez Martinez-Contreras, also known as Bambi and the Lay Away Queen, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2006 in Santa Maria at the age of 53.

The visitation will be Friday, December 29, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. The Funeral Service will be at 6:00 p.m. at the Mortuary with Pastor Conrad Gonzales officiating.

Mrs. Martinez-Contreras, was a homemaker for over 25 years. She moved here from Los Angeles.

She is survived by her father, Gonzalo Contreras of Santa Barbara, eight Children, Johnny (Robin) Valdez, Annette (Juvenal) Castro, Jennette (Miguel) Jimenez, Paco Mendez, Robert (Jennifer) Garcia and Marie (Johnny) Cota all of Lompoc. Manuel Wallace of Santa Ynez and and Gregory Wallace of Lompoc; a sister, Julie Partida, of Santa Ynez; two Brothers, Johnny and Jesse Contreras of Lompoc; 25 Grandchildren and two Great Grandchidren. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Mercedes Contreras, 2 sons, Jesse and Ryan Hunt. A Daughter in Law, Brandy Sellers.
