IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Guadalupe
Torres
August 6, 1949 – May 4, 2019
Guadalupe "Lupe" Torres 08/06/1949 - 05/04/2019
On Saturday May 4, 2019, our lives were forever changed. With family by her side and in the comfort of her own home, our mother, Guadalupe "Lupe" Torres, lost her fight with cancer. As a family, we are trying to take what comfort we can in knowing she is no longer suffering after fighting a difficult battle, she is now at rest.
For those that had the pleasure of knowing her, our mother was so much more than the struggles she faced. She was a strong spirit who was full of love and a heart of gold. Her beautiful smile and contagious laugh will be missed by all that knew and loved her. Our mother was always helping others. She touched the lives of everyone she met, and she would do anything for anyone regardless of her own situation.
Lupe is preceded in death by her parents Edward George and Esther Torres. She is survived by her children, Bernice (Armando) Hernandez, Christina (Abraham) Barraza and Michael (Carmen) Torres; her grandchildren Jessica (Osvaldo) Diaz, Ramona, Amanda and Elizabeth Hernandez, Antonio, Abraham II and Manny Barraza and Angel Ramirez, a Cristian and Tyanna Torres. As well as her great grandchildren Laurie-Ann, Kaylie-Jade, Ozzie, Enrique (Ricky) and Aaliyah. She is also survived by her sibling Edward Rueben, Henry, Pauline and Richard, and many nieces and nephews and extended family.
We would like to thank Dr. Julian Davis of the Ridley-Tree Cancer Center as well as their caring staff for their care of our mother. Our heartfelt thanks to the Visiting Nurses and Hospice nurses Janice, Jennifer, Billie and in the Lompoc Valley.
Lupe's Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday May 18, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Lompoc Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 205 W. Chestnut Ave. A gathering will follow our mom's celebration of life.
