Born on the 20th of September, 1929 in the Bronx borough of New York City to the late Anna and Claude Davidson, passed away the 19th of August, 2008 at home with his wife Kathy.
"Hal" was a professional photographer and businessman, having developed his skills as a photographer while enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps with a transition to the Air Force in 1948. His military assignments took him to Tripoli in North Africa, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Alaska, the Republic of Vietnam and finally to Vandenberg where he retired from the Air Force in July of 1968 from the 1369th Aerographic Photo Squadron.
Upon retirement, Hal spent a period of time as the regional director of the Boy Scout of America regional office in Santa Barbara. He then returned to his passion of photography through both business and academia. Hal established and ran Harold Davidson Photography of Lompoc and taught photography classes at Allan Hancock Junior College's extension campus.
Hal leaves his wife of 54 years, Kathy and is survived by his sister Mrs. Eileen Wilbur of Schoharie, N.Y., sons David (Linda) of Sugarland, TX, Mark (Lisa) of La Cañada Flintridge, CA, Paul (Hazel) of Lompoc, CA and daughter Laura Meyer (Fred) of Arcata, CA. along with seven grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at the Elks Lodge of Lompoc and the Masonic Lodge of Lompoc. Details will be announced by the respective fraternal organization at a later time. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the charity "Community Partners in Caring" through the Harold Davidson Memorial Fund account at any branch of Santa Barbara Bank and Trust.
His ashes will be scattered at his hometown of Schoharie, N.Y. in the spring of 2009.
