Harry Bernard, 91, died Friday March 22, 2013 in Santa Maria. He was born June 23, 1922 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Betty; parents Nathan and Frieda Bernard.
After service in the Army and Air Force, Harry settled in Los Angeles and worked at the Hollywood Fun Shop in Santa Monica. His knowledge of all facets of the magic business landed Harry and Betty as the operators of the first Disneyland Magic Shops in 1955. He performed at special events in Disneyland as well as for service clubs, Scout groups, fraternal and church organizations all over Southern California.
From 1961-1982 Harry worked in Civil Service at Vandenberg Air Force Base. He owned Space Country Souvenirs in Lompoc, Ca. from 1981 to 2005.
Graveside services will be 9:00 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2013 at Lompoc Cemetery District.
