Hazel Hannah, 93, died peacefully June 2, 2013 at the Lompoc Comprehensive Care Center, after a 13-year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born August 28, 1919 in Covington, Tennessee to Oliver and Lulu Townsend. She raised her children and lived most of her life in Lompoc, where she was a charter member of Lompoc Foursquare Church. Upon retirement, they settled in New Cuyama until her husband passed away. She then moved back to Lompoc because of failing health.
She is survived by sons John (Loretta) Hannah, Lompoc; Jim (Sara) Hannah, Springfield, MO; sister Wanda Donato, Memphis, TN; grandchildren Roseanne (David) Rapoza, Lompoc, Donna (David) Hensley, Beaufort , SC; Lorinda (Kevin) Fish, Taylorsville, UT; Loretta Lockard, The Dalles, OR; Lonnie (Laura) Cowell, Las Cruces, NM; Ginny (Mark) Tranbarger, Morrisville, MO; Alberta Wolfe, Cocoa Beach, FL and several great and great-great grandchildren.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James, daughter June Myers, brother James Townsend and grandson Teddy Hannah.
The family wishes to thank those who cared for her at the Comprehensive Care Center for so many years.
