On 18 December 2012, Heather E. Greenlee, 38, realized her long time goal of seeing Jesus Christ in all his glory. She passed peacefully in her sleep.
Heather was born 10 July 1974 at Subic Bay Naval Base, Philippines and raised at numerous locations as a military dependent. After high school, Heather joined the United States Air Force, serving four years as a Public Affairs Journeyman at Andrews AFB, Maryland. As an Air Force spouse she lived on Andrews AFB Maryland, Eglin AFB Florida, Sheppard AFB Texas and finally at Vandenberg AFB California.
Heather enjoyed taking college courses, eventually earning a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. She also was a dedicated Cub Scout supporter serving nine years as a pack leader, and also served as a Sunday school teacher at multiple locations as she traveled throughout the years. Heather was a member of Lompoc Valley Baptist Church.
Heather is survived by her parents, Robert Anderson of St. Louis, Missouri and Nikki Schomer of Worthington, Pennsylvania; husband Wesley Greenlee of Stockton, Calif.; sister Heidi Engel of Kokomo, Indiana; and her children Dakota Lykins, Hunter Greenlee, Jack Greenlee and Evynn Greenlee.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Lompoc Valley Baptist Church, 700 East College Avenue, with Pastor Travis Collins officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be one hour prior to service time at the church. The Vandenberg Air Force Base Honor Guard will render military honors.
