Henry was born Nov, 12, 1935, in Tyler, Texas. As a young boy, in 1943, his family relocated to Santa Barbara, where he attended school and made many fond memories and friends.
At Santa Barbara HS, Henry was active in campus life. His interest ranging from the arts to athletics, Henry sang in the Double Male Quartet and was a lineman on the Dons football squad, and later become a member of the "Ye Old Gang" boosters. Henry matriculated through the Santa Barbara City and Ventura Community Colleges. His strong work ethic and dedication allowed him to sustain a 34 year career with Delco Electronics, working his way up to Traffic Manager, from which he was blessed to eventually retire in 1995.
Henry proved to be a loving father to his children Devon, Deena and Dwayne Johnson. In due course, Henry met and fell in love with Anne Hougham, who became his devoted wife of 32-years. Sharing an enduring love, his commitment to her was his greatest pleasure, and they were also blessed with two sons, Nicholas and Mark. Beyond his passionate love for his entire family, Henry also enjoyed traveling and being the Clippers #1 fan. Henry was brought up with the knowledge of God and accepted Christ as his personal savior before the Lord called him home.
Henry was preceded in death by his beloved mother Girtha L. Sauls; step-father Fred Nobles; step-sister Essie Chaney, and son Devon Johnson of his union with Rita Olsen. His memory will be cherished by his wife Anne Johnson of Lompoc; daughter Deena Johnson of Atlanta, GA; son and daughter-in-law Dwayne and Laura Johnson of Los Olivos; son and daughter-in-law Nicholas and Crystal Johnson of Lompoc; son Mark Johnson of Lompoc, and his loving grandchildren whom he absolutely adored.
He is also survived by his loving sister and brother-in-law Pauline and Johnny Gilbert of Santa Maria, CA, mother-in-law Lorraine Hougham and Frank Green of Indio, CA; sisters and brothers-in-law Mary and Dan Winters of La Quinta, CA; Allison and Steve Davis of Auburn, WA; Pam and Rich Olaveson of Mission Viejo, CA; Karen Hougham and John Tirpak of Seattle, WA. He is preceded in death by his father-in-law Charles Stanley Hougham and brother-in-law John Hougham. Henry will be missed by his grand-extended family: Aunt Sudie Johnson of Santa Barbara, CA and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews all of whom loved him dearly.

There will be a public viewing for Henry Johnson on Thursday, June 18, 2009, from 5 - 8pm at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary located at 123 N. "A" St, in Lompoc, CA. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, on Friday, June 19, 2009, at the Trinity Church of the Nazarene located at 500 E. North Ave, Lompoc, CA.
