Herlinda Vasquez de Hora of Lompoc went to her heavenly home on Sunday, October 25, 2020, at the age of 82.
Herlinda was born May 16, 1938 in Coatzacoalcos, Vera Cruz, Mexico to Manuel Vasquez and Maria Cuevas Gonzalez. She was raised in Vera Cruz, Mexico until the age of 9 last residing in Ensenada, B.C., Mexico.
She married her husband Edilberto Q. Hora, Sr. of San Nicolas, Pangasinan, Philippines, on April 13, 1960 in Mexicali, B.C., Mexico. Herlinda has been a resident of Lompoc since May 1961. She was a talented seamstress and homemaker. She was a member of the Primera Iglesia Bautista Hispana de Lompoc (First Hispanic Baptist Church of Lompoc).
One of 7 children, Herlinda enjoyed gardening and, loved to sew and create her own patterns and designs. She had a great love for God and her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She is survived by her children Evelyn (Javier) Castaneda, Nancy(Robert) Louth of Lompoc, CA, and Eddie Q. Hora Jr. of Ft. Worth, Texas; 4 grandchildren, Christina, Frank, Salina and Jacqueline; 9 great-grandchildren, Larissa, Johnny, Celicia, Isaiah, Robert, Tre, Frankie, Zachary, Nicholas and, 3 great-great grandchildren, Mariana, Camila, and Christopher John.
She is also survived by siblings Cecilia Cordova Cuevas and Roberto Tejero Cuevas of Ensenada, B.C., Mexico; Manuel Tejero Vazquez of Mazatlan, Mexico and, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her siblings Felipe Tejero Cuevas, Raul Tejero Cuevas and Manuel Tejero Cuevas.
Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, November 4th at 1 pm, Grace Baptist Church of Lompoc, 1009 E. Pine Avenue, Lompoc, CA.
Pastor Alejandro Roqué of Primera Iglesia Bautista Hispana de Lompoc (First Hispanic Baptist Church of Lompoc) will be officiating and Pastor Nestor Lambarena of Victory Outreach Church, Porterville, CA will be translating.
Burial and Committal Service will be at 2:30 p.m. at Lompoc Cemetary with Pastor Robert Louth of Everyday Church Lompoc officiating. Family and Friends are encouraged to join in celebration of Herlinda's life.
