IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Hilda
Mullen
January 13, 1923 – December 19, 2022
Hilda was born in Göttingen, Germany, on January 13, 1923. At an early age, Hilda became fascinated with gymnastics and ballet. She continued to compete and teach gymnastics until she was 40. By 1936, at the age of 13, she had become quite an accomplished gymnast, winning several trophies. Hilda had dreamt of being in the Olympics in 1936 when they were held in Munich, Germany but was too young to qualify.
Hilda and her five children move from Germany and immigrated to America. Hilda became and was always proud to be a naturalized American citizen. She enjoyed reading, riding horses, cooking, and she had a green thumb and a great talent for interior decorating. She also had been a caregiver for many years. Hilda will be remembered by us all for her common sense, her quick wit, intelligence, love, and generosity toward others.
Hilda was preceded in death by her two husbands. She is survived by her five children, numerous relatives, and many friends over the years.
Many thanks for the great care and compassion given to Hilda by the Lompoc Hospital and the Lompoc Convalescent Care Center.
At Hilda's request, there will be no services.
I am so honored I met you, and we were the best of friends for the past 27 years. I was so happy when you held my hands so tightly, and your beautiful green eyes said it all.
Your friend,
Jimmy
P.S . I know you wanted to make it to 100 to meet the President, you almost made it!!
