Obituary

April 6, 1939 – June 19, 2022

Born Hisako Annabelle Tamura on April 6, 1939, in Hilo Hawaii to Mitsue and Benjamin Tamura. She was known as Ann or Anna by her friends and family, passed away peacefully in her home with her youngest son Brian at her side on June 19, 2022, she was 83.

Ann was married to George Olivar for 60 years when George passed away in Oct 2018. She was a Marine wife, a loving and caring mom, the best grandma, and our best friend. She is survived by her sons Bruce "Ty" Olivar and Brian T Olivar. Grandson Bruce "Little Ty" Olivar II, Granddaughters Meagan Anne, Taylor Rae Olivar, and great granddaughter Laylah Anne Velasquez. daughter-in-law, Linda Jarrett-Olivar, and step-grandchildren, Kevin, Kelly, and Kaitlyn Jarrett.

Ann welcomed everyone with open arms into her home. She loved to cook and feed everyone even when you weren't hungry. She would say "eat..eat!! There's plenty!!" She loved being surrounded by family and friends and having the house filled with laughter and love! She was an amazing mom and friend who would always be there no matter what the situation was. Yes, you would get yelled at, but she was there for you! She was a Marine wife and that's one of the many reasons she was so tough. When important questions popped up and you asked dad for the answer, his reply was always, "you need to ask the CEO…MOM!!"

She was our everything and she will be deeply and truly missed.
