Dear Friends and family, it is with great sadness that our beloved mother passed away on January 27, 2024. She was born in Lompoc California on October 25, 1928, to Martin Silva Terrones and Atilana Garcia Terrones.  Hortensia is survived by her children, Isabel Cruz, Blanca Robles, Rosendo Robles, Thomas Robles, Michael Robles (Sally), and Aaron Robles.  She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, as well as her sister Connie Terrones, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Rosendo Robles, four brothers, and two sisters.

Hortensia was very witty and funny when given a chance. She worked at Bodger Seed Co., Lompoc Hospital, JC Penney, and El Zarape as a cook along with her sister Belia Delgado.  The most important thing in her life was being at home as a homemaker caring for her husband and children.  Hortensia was a lifelong member of the Mexican Social Organization where she served as secretary.  Besides being the secretary, she helped make the quesadillas during the Lompoc Flower Festival.   Hortensia was well known for making the "magic" happen when the Mexican Social Organization sold enchiladas, that magic was her making the sauce and meat.  Surprisingly, she was an avid Dodgers fan.

On behalf of the Robles family, we would like to extend a special thank you and gratitude to the Lompoc Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation for all their kindness and care towards our mother.  Thank you, Mando and all the CNAs for the loving care that was shown.

Mom, you are so loved by us all and will be immensely missed.

A visitation for Hortensia will be held at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary on Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 4:00-7 pm. A graveside service will be at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 11:00 am.
